The reservation system “Sirena-2.3” allows airlines to open access to their inventory to a maximal quantity of channels of distribution:
- the network of its own terminals;
- sales through the Internet on the site of the airlines;
- both domestic distribution systems Sirin and Sirena-Travel;
- global distribution systems: Amadeus, Galileo, and others;
- the reservations systems of other airlines with which interline relationships have been established.
Airlines which place their inventory in “Sirena-2.3” do not need to separate blocks out for either domestic or international flights for management by another inventory-distribution system. Thus, they can fully concentrate on problems of effectively managing their inventory, and thankfully “Sirena-2.3” offers them a rich selection of corresponding instruments:
- all facilities standard for a reservations system and yield management, such as classes and sub-classes, automatic change of managing parameters depending on time to departure, waiting lists, special seat blocks), overbooking, manual and automatic confirmation of service requests, notification queues, automatic building of connections, two-way integration with airport registration systems, support of code-share flights and much more;
- a graphic operator interface which allows for completing inventory management tasks most quickly and shortening the time necessary for mastering the system;
- a built-in sub-system for advanced seat reservations;
- numerous summaries, which allow for extraction from the system of any necessary information regarding flights, passengers, etc. Each summary has an enormous number of options which provides a facility for immediately receiving all necessary information, and nothing more, in the order required;
- a flexible subsystem for automating control over the work of agents, which allows one to reduce work for manual checking of PNR’S to a minimum. This presents the opportunity to substantially decrease the number of employees in the reservation control group;
- a unique function of preliminary revenue evaluation, which allows for monitoring not only quantitative, but also financial indicators of flight loads of airlines in real time; and based on trends and their changes, take maximally operative decisions regarding inventory levels. It is this which allows the system to be classified not only as a reservations system, but also as a yield management system.
